Have you ever felt like your life was completely unfinished?
Like there were still too many things to figure out.
Too many unanswered questions.
Too many loose ends.
Too many things that hadn’t happened yet.
I know I have.
For most of my life, I believed peace would come when everything was finally under control.
When the plan was complete.
When the finances were settled.
When the future was clear.
When all the problems were solved.
But recently, God has been teaching me something very different.
He’s been teaching me that peace doesn’t come from controlling the future.
Peace comes from trusting the One who already holds it.
A Different Kind of Peace
This season of my life looks very different than seasons I’ve lived before.
I’m building a ministry.
I’m studying for my Divinity degree.
I’m creating programs.
I’m learning new technology.
I’m stepping into things I’ve never done before.
And if I’m being honest, there are still many things I don’t fully know.
There are prayers I’m still waiting to see answered.
Dreams that are still developing.
Doors that haven’t opened yet.
Old habits of striving occasionally try to creep back in and convince me that I need to figure everything out.
That I need to have all the answers.
That I need to know exactly how every piece will come together.
But God keeps bringing me back to the same truth:
“Victoria, I didn’t ask you to carry the future. I asked you to walk with Me today.”
That changes everything.
God never promised us a fully revealed roadmap.
He promised His presence.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I had spent years trying to manage outcomes instead of simply managing obedience.
I wanted certainty.
God wanted trust.
I wanted guarantees.
God wanted relationship.
I wanted the entire staircase.
God was showing me the next step.
The truth is, chaos can exist around us while peace exists within us.
The circumstances may still be developing.
The answers may still be unfolding.
The future may still be unknown.
Yet we can rest because our Shepherd is not uncertain.
The comfort isn’t found in knowing everything.
The comfort is found in knowing Him.

Matthew 11:28
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 6:33
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
“And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”
God has already gone ahead of us.
The future that worries us is not a surprise to Him.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately, try asking yourself this question:
What is today’s assignment?
Not next year’s assignment.
Not next month’s assignment.
Not ten years from now.
Today’s assignment.
Then focus your energy there.
God gives daily bread.
Daily grace.
Daily strength.
Daily direction.
Many of us become exhausted because we’re trying to carry tomorrow’s responsibilities with today’s strength.
But God has never asked us to do that.
He simply asks us to walk with Him one day at a time.
Take a moment to reflect:
· What future concern have you been carrying that God may be asking you to release?
· What is the next faithful step God is asking you to take today?
Write it down.
Pray over it.
Then take that next step.
Father,
Thank You that I do not have to carry the weight of the future.
Thank You that You have already gone before me and prepared the way.
Help me trust You one day at a time.
Teach me to seek Your presence more than certainty and Your guidance more than control.
Give me grace for today’s assignment and peace for everything else.

Friend, if you need this reminder today, let me leave you with the truth God keeps speaking to my own heart:
You do not have to have it all figured out.
You do not have to know every answer.
You do not have to carry the entire future.
Take the next faithful step.
Trust the Shepherd.

You’re right where you’re supposed to be.
