Sisters,
Have you ever felt like everything depends on you?
The bills.
The family.
The healing.
The future.
The decisions.
The ministry.
The dreams God placed in your heart.
Maybe no one said you had to carry it all, but somewhere along the way you picked up responsibilities that were never meant to rest entirely on your shoulders.
Many women spend years exhausted—not because they are weak, but because they are carrying weights God never intended them to carry alone.
The good news is this:
God never asked you to carry it alone.
The Weight We Were Never Meant to Bear
Some burdens are real.
Life can be difficult.
Responsibilities are part of adulthood.
But there is a difference between responsibility and carrying the weight of the world.
Responsibility says:
“I will do my part.”
Burden says:
“I must control every outcome.”
Responsibility is healthy.
Control is exhausting.
Many of us have spent years trying to manage things that belong in God’s hands.
We worry.
We strive.
We overthink.
We rehearse every possible outcome.
And yet, none of those things add peace to our lives.
They simply add more weight.
Jesus Offered a Different Way
Jesus never promised a life without challenges.
But He did promise help.
He invited us into a partnership where we bring Him our burdens and receive His strength.
The Christian life was never meant to be lived through human effort alone.
God does not stand at a distance demanding perfection.
He walks beside us.
He strengthens us.
He guides us.
He carries what we cannot.
Key Scripture
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
Notice what Jesus says.
Come.
Not perform.
Not earn.
Not prove.
Just come.
The invitation is simple.
Bring Him the burden.
Bring Him the fear.
Bring Him the uncertainty.
Bring Him the situation you cannot fix.
Practical Application
Take a moment and ask yourself:
What am I carrying that belongs to God?
Write it down.
Name it.
Then pray over it.
Not because the situation will instantly disappear, but because surrender begins when we stop pretending we can carry everything ourselves.
Every burden you place in God’s hands creates room for His peace to enter your heart.
This week, choose one concern you’ve been carrying and intentionally place it before God each day. When the worry returns, remind yourself:
“I will do my part, and I will trust God with His.”
Reflection
What burden have you been carrying alone that God may be inviting you to surrender today?
What would change if you truly believed He was with you in it?
Prayer
Father,
Thank You that I was never meant to carry every burden alone.
Forgive me for the times I have tried to control what only You can handle.
Today I surrender my worries, fears, and uncertainties to You.
Teach me to trust You more deeply.
Strengthen me where I am weak.
Give me wisdom for my next step and peace for the journey ahead.
Help me remember that You are with me, You are for me, and You are faithful.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Stay Strong Body, Mind & Spirit
