Menopause the good, the bad, and the truth.

Menopause

Beautiful,

Let’s talk about something many women experience but far too few women openly discuss.

Menopause.

Just hearing the word can stir up all kinds of emotions.

For some women, it’s relief.

For others, it’s confusion.

For many, it’s frustration.

Hot flashes.

Night sweats.

Mood changes.

Weight gain.

Brain fog.

Sleep struggles.

Changes in energy.

Changes in confidence.

Changes in how we see ourselves.

And sometimes the hardest part isn’t the symptoms themselves.

It’s feeling like nobody prepared us for them.

Many women find themselves asking:

“What’s happening to me?”

“Why do I feel different?”

“Will I ever feel like myself again?”

If you’ve asked those questions, you’re not alone.

I’ve heard them from countless women.

And I’ve asked a few of them myself.

The Bad

Let’s be honest.

There are parts of menopause that simply aren’t fun.

There is nothing glamorous about waking up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat.

There is nothing exciting about feeling exhausted after a full night’s sleep.

There is nothing enjoyable about doing all the things that used to work and suddenly finding they don’t work the same way anymore.

Sometimes menopause can make us feel like we’ve lost control of our own bodies.

And when our bodies change, our emotions often follow.

Many women begin questioning themselves.

Their appearance.

Their value.

Their femininity.

Their confidence.

Their future.

But here’s the truth:

Menopause may change some things.

It does not change your worth.

The Good

Now let’s talk about something that doesn’t get enough attention.

There is good in this season too.

Many women enter menopause carrying decades of wisdom.

Decades of experience.

Decades of lessons learned.

By this stage of life, many of us care less about people’s opinions and more about living authentically.

We know who we are.

We know what matters.

We know what deserves our energy and what doesn’t.

There is a confidence that often comes with maturity.

A freedom that comes with no longer trying to be everything for everyone.

A strength that only comes from walking through life’s challenges and discovering that God was faithful through all of them.

The world often focuses on what women are losing.

I believe God wants us to see what He is still building.

The Truth

The truth is that menopause is not the end of anything important.

It is a transition.

A season.

A chapter.

Not a conclusion.

The truth is that your best years are not behind you simply because your body is changing.

Your purpose hasn’t expired.

Your calling hasn’t expired.

Your value hasn’t expired.

Your ability to grow, learn, serve, lead, and impact others has not expired.

In fact, many women discover some of their greatest purpose during this season of life.

The truth is that God is still writing your story.

And He has not reached the final chapter.

Key Scripture

Isaiah 46:4

“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

Psalm 92:14

“They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.”

Philippians 1:6

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

God never stops working in the lives of His daughters.

Never.

Sis,

If you’ve been struggling with the changes that come with menopause, I want to encourage you to give yourself grace.

Your body is changing.

That doesn’t mean you’re failing.

Your needs may be changing.

That doesn’t mean you’re weak.

Your season may be changing.

That doesn’t mean your purpose is over.

Instead of focusing on what feels different, ask yourself:

What is God teaching me in this season?

What strengths has He developed in me that I didn’t have twenty years ago?

How can I steward this season well?

There is still purpose here.

There is still beauty here.

There is still growth here.

Prayer

Father,

Thank You for walking with us through every season of life.

Thank You that our worth is not determined by our age, appearance, or changing circumstances.

Help us embrace this season with wisdom, grace, and confidence.

Remind us that You are still working, still leading, and still fulfilling Your purpose in our lives.

Help us focus on what is true rather than what fear tries to tell us.

Thank You that our value comes from being Your daughters.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Final Thought

Friend,

Menopause may be part of your story.

But it is not the whole story.

You are still growing.

Still learning.

Still becoming.

Still valuable.

Still called.

Still loved.

And your best years may be closer than you think.

Stay Strong Body, Mind & Spirit
